Integrating Web 2.0 into your online course
Abstract
Presentation Abstract: Web 2.0 tools such as podcasts, blogs, wikis, and online video have exploded in popularity. Students often use YouTube, Wikipedia and their favorite blogs and podcasts as their primary sources of information. These Web 2.0-driven technologies are quickly making mainstream media and traditional sources of information less relevant. An administrator and faculty member working in online education describe how to transform online education from a static one-way model into to a dynamic interactive model for online education that engages and empowers students and faculty to create and share content. The presentation begins with a brief overview of Web 2.0 technologies, followed by a demonstration of these technologies and how they have been integrated into distance education at Brookdale Community College. ... Technology: LMS - Angel, PPT, Web 2.0 (audio, video, wikis, blogs, etc) ... Delivery Method: All of the above
