Abstract
The noble gases, like the noble metals, are characterized by low reactivity. Segments in this program include Exploring the Noble Gases (properties of the noble gases); Helium: Rocket Fuel (helium's part in powering the space shuttle); Neon: Fabulous Fluorescence (the use of neon in products ranging from TV tubes to the lights of Las Vegas); Krypton: Faster than a Speeding Bullet (the role of Krypton in high-speed photography); and Understanding Our Universe (how the elements and their properties help scientists understand more about the universe and humankind).
