Drupal and learning communities
Abstract
Building a learning community with students can help to make a course more engaging, effective, and fun. Drupal is an easy to use tool that integrates the functions of a wiki, blog, discussion board, social networking site, and content management system into an easy to use graphical interface that non-technical users can customize to meet the exact needs of their course. This presentation gives an overview of how Drupal is used in IS218 and IS683 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology to create a learning community centered on this subject. This course focuses on Web development; however, the use of Drupal to create the learning community could be extended to any subject.
