Abstract
Van Ness discusses his experience as faculty member and athletic coach, including the difficulty of athletics in a female-dominated teacher college in his early years, the large influx of male students after the end of World War II and the growth of the college athletics, the separation of the Physical Education Department from the Athletics Department, and his efforts to build quality athletic facilities at Trenton State.
