Abstract
This film recounts Lumumba's 200 day rule culminating with his assassination. It reveals how a weakened democratic movement succumbed to the only well-financed and organized force in the country - the military. It reexamines the independence struggle in the Belgian Congo. Combines archival documentary footage of Lumumba with the memories of journalists who reported from the Congo.
