Women achievement, the history of women in America and women heroes are shown in this second program of American women history spanning 1836-1851. This program discusses Juana Briones and the establishement of San Francisco; Mary Lynn and the foundation of Mount Holyoke, the first women's college; Susan Magoffin; Maria Mitchell, the first scientist to discover a comet with a telescope; Amelia Bloomer, the publisher of The Lily; and Sojourner Truth. In eight half-hour shows, A History of Women's Achievement in America examines the 400-year history of American women's inspiring accomplishments and victories.
