Abstract
This is the sixth program in the series. From 1853 to 1890, the Plains Indians horse culture engaged the United States military in its longest conflict. This original, eight-part series of half-hour shows documents the history of American Indian achievement, its defining role in the growth of the country, and its influence on current events. The series highlights the many contributions of American Indians that have influenced and shaped the history of the United States.
