Abstract
This program's focus is on The Rococo. The emphasis on pastoral themes and strong classical influence emerged in the work of Hogarth, Reynolds, Gainsborough, Chardin, Jean-Antoine Watteau, Copely, François Boucher and David. Great works studied include the masterpieces The Blue Boy, The Rakes Progress, and Saying Grace. This series as a whole presents a unique and masterly survey of the greatest achievements in the history of art from the medieval era to the post-impressionist world.
