Abstract
Anyone who has a first-degree relative with a mood disorder is at increased risk for experiencing the same disorder themselves. The most common mood disorder is depression. Against the backdrop of a patient named Beverly, Dr. Andrew Leuchter differentiates between depression and the normal ups and downs in life.
