Abstract
Though violence impacts every race and ethnic group, it disproportionately impacts the poor. The inner cities of the U. S. are hotbeds of violence that many people avoid. In recent years, as violence has seeped into more affluent neighborhoods, more attention is being directed toward treating the problem as an epidemic and building community programs to counter it.
