Abstract
Four in ten young women have at least one unintended pregnancy before the age of 20. We meet three such teenagers at Project Cradle, a free clinic and comprehensive prenatal program for expectant adolescents who have nowhere else to turn. For many young mothers the idea of having a baby may seem appealing at first, but the excitement is short lived. Too often it is a lose-lose situation both for the child, the young mother and the grandmother who may find herself raising a newborn after her family is grown.
