Abstract
Even if the drinker does not recognize the effects alcohol is having, the body does. It causes memory impairment and loss, vitamin deficiency, and blackouts. Alcohol affects the interaction among nerve cells in the parts of the brain responsible for drives and emotions and the coordination of muscle movements. When alcohol consumes a person's life and they become physical dependent other body parts may begin to deteriorate like the liver. Heavy drinking is also associated with cardiovascular disease and certain cancers.
