Abstract
Athletes and those who are in good physical shape need to be careful to avoid doing too much of a good thing. Overuse injuries, torn ligaments , rotator cuff injuries often occur when intense competitors overdo. A major advancement in recent years has been the use of arthroscopy, a minimally invasive surgery that allows injured athletes to return to activities quickly and safely. "Overdoing" can happen in daily activities as well, particularly low back injuries caused by improper lifting. The risk of injury during any activity can be lowered by warming up and cooling down.
