Abstract
When it comes to health, the world community lives in "one small boat." International awareness and cooperation even extends to our food supply. Changes in how food is grown and handled, increased international travel, people crammed together in unsanitary conditions contribute to the emergence of new and deadlier microbes. Laboratories around the world maintain a database of pathogen samples using standardized methodology.
