Abstract
The death rate due to AIDS continues to decline as a result of more sophisticated testing and treatment, but the incidence of HIV infection continues is increasing among women, minorities, heterosexuals, and adolescents. Sandra McDonald shares her experiences taking the campaign against AIDS and for safe sex to the streets of Atlanta, Georgia. In the last several years major progress has also been made in lowering the spread of the disease from an HIV-positive mother to her newborn child.
