Abstract
To lessen the devastating impact HIV has on people's lives, healthcare professionals advise that you maintain a monogamous relationship with an HIV negative person, abstain from sexual intercourse, or use a condom 100% of the time. Do not use needles that are shared with anyone else. The capacity to contain the HIV problem depends upon awareness at the individual, community and national levels. Steve Pieters shares his thoughts as someone who has had HIV /AIDs for over 15 years and is now living "beyond" it..
