In the last few years, many healthcare solution strategies have been placed on the table. The fact that no definitive course of action has been adopted reflects the complexities of the issues involved. Equitable access to the healthcare system, many feel, is a social obligation. In some countries, employers are required to provide health insurance. In others, health coverage comes under a federal plan through some sort of progressive income tax. Just where these discussions will end is still in question. What is not in question is the importance of a healthy population to the health of the nation.
