Abstract
Dr. Alexandra Levine, Chief of the Division of Hematology at the USC School of Medicine, explains that one of the things that makes the HIV virus so difficult is that it's a retro virus, which means it has the ability to take its genetic material and insert it into human DNA. She goes on to say that, for now at least, the best we can hope to do is to live with the virus long-term, but not actually kill it.
