Abstract
Dean Hamer, Director of the Gene Structure and Regulation Unit at the National Cancer Institute, talks about the potential for negative consequences among those who are genetically inclined to seek thrills. Some of these consequences can include taking drugs, stealing, engaging in unsafe sex with multiple partners, etc. Dr. Hamer explains that while the genetic pre-disposition for such behavior may be there, what people do with that trait is not pre-determined, and they do have a choice about the decisions they ultimately make.
