Abstract
What is truth? Both philosophy and science seek to find the answer to that question, and although each theory proposed contributes a vital perspective, none can cover each and every situation. It is important not to get hung up on Truth with a capital T, but realize that in ordinary life what we are concerned with is truths in the plural. As Hilary Putnam says, "There's a tendency in philosophy to look for the generalization that covers all the cases, and we always lose, but we can't resist trying."
