Abstract
Philosopher Daniel Dennett talks about free will, which he says is probably "the most accessible and grabbing of all the philosophical problems." He notes that most people are worried that if they don't have free will, they are nothing but a puppet on a string, locked in a kind of prison. Professor Dennett says that when we try to ascertain what motivates actions that we take, we never actually find the free agent, or what some philosophers have called "agent causation."
