Abstract
Philosopher Stephen Toulmin explains that people in different parts of the world who have lived at different times have often had very different conceptions of time. He mentions several, including the notion that processes of time operate in a kind of spiral way. He also states that there's some evidence suggesting Plato was interested in the possibility of time being cyclical and recurring.
