Abstract
Television news correspondent, presidential advisor and university professor Marvin Kalb talks about the qualities necessary for an American Secretary of State to be great. Chief among these attributes, according to Mr. Kalb, is having a broad conceptual vision of America's national interest, "....of where we fit in this very complex jigsaw puzzle of a world." Mr. Kalb adds that it's also very important that the Secretary of State be able to communicate his or her views effectively to the American people.
