Abstract
The NYC Transit Exhibit in the unused but still functional Court St. station was part of the United States Bicentennial celebrations in 1976, and was initially intended to run only from July 4-Sept. 7. It's popularity kept it open, and eventually the exhibit became the permanent New York City Transit Museum.
