Abstract
Former White House press secretary Mike McCurry compares the Watergate episode during the Nixon presidency to the Lewinsky episode of the Clinton presidency. In Mr. McCurry's view, there is what he calls a "magnitude difference" between the two. "President Nixon was very clearly guilty of major Constitutional offenses...that were dangerous to our form of government, to our Republic," Mr. McCurry explains. "I mean, it was a very, very different environment than a sex scandal that (President Clinton) maybe or maybe did not lie about, depending on how you define certain terms."
