Abstract
Former Secretary of Labor and university professor Robert Reich talks about the economic successes and failures of the 1990's. "The good news is that, throughout the 1990's...the rate of unemployment dropped and a lot of new jobs were added to the American economy." But Secretary Reich notes that there was a big problem as well. "The median wage...hardly increased at all in the 1990's...The people in the top ten percent did very well...But inequality, as a result, did increase during the 1990's...The gaps are widening and the social and political consequences of that are potentially very, very disturbing."
