Former Secretary of Labor and university professor Robert Reich argues that we don't have to chose between the low unemployment but frequently low wages of the American system, and a European system with wage rigidity that prevents wages from going very low but, as a result, has a lot of unemployment. "That should not be the choice," according to Secretary Reich. "What we need is to create the foundation for a new middle class based on technical skills."
