Footage from the 1997 documentary “A Life Apart: Hasidism in America” (directed by Menachem Daum and Oren Rudavsky), the first in-depth documentary about Hasidic Jews, members of a distinctive group within Judaism that has roots in pre-World War II Eastern Europe.

A story about his father and a blessing of the rebbe that reverberated for him through life and death experiences in the Holocaust, his meeting his wife after the war. The birth of his first son and his decision to raise him in accordance with his family traditions. Talks about the blessings in his life.
