Abstract
Peers tend to exert influence over what young people wear, the music they like, and how they want to spend their free time. Most teens admire their parents and retain many of their basic values but clash over curfew and control issues. An 8th or 9th grader tends to be much more susceptible to peer pressure than a 4th or 12th grader.
