Abstract
Humanistic therapists combine active listening with a therapeutic environment that is genuine, accepting, and empathetic. Such unconditional positive regard, Carl Rogers believed, facilitates healing and personal growth. The therapist serves as a collaborator who helps liberate he inherent drive for healing that the mind and brain have.
