Abstract
Behavior therapists are interested in action-oriented techniques generally involving exposure, particularly in treating anxiety disorders. The treatment entails modeling, the assignment of tasks; joint performance with therapist if necessary; and gradual fade out of the therapist's participation. For obsessive compulsive disorder therapists ask clients to expose themselves to that which provokes their obsession, without resorting to their compulsive ritual.
