Abstract
Psychologist and author Paul Ekman says that his research has not revealed any difference between males and females in the expression of emotion. Dr. Ekman adds that he hasn't studied the triggers of emotion or the attempts to "socially manage" emotion. Dr. Ekman also notes that the strength of one's physiological response during an emotional experience gets more subdued with aging. "It's still there," he explains, "but it's not as intense in your 70's as it was in your 40's or 30's."
