Abstract
Across the Atlantic, Americans look with horror at the carnage in Europe. Wilson believes that it was the system of secret alliances that led to the war, and that all of the participants are equally responsible. As the war becomes more brutal, public opinion about it becomes more polarized in the United States. To encourage U. S. involvement, Great Britain launches an anti-German propaganda campaign.
