Abstract
At 7:55 a.m. on Sunday December 7, 1941, a wave of Japanese bombers taking off from aircraft carriers hundreds of miles away, attacks the U. S. naval base at Pearl Harbor. Survivors of the attack recount their remembrance of the surprise attack. The battleship Oklahoma keels over. Planes parked in the middle of the tarmac to protect them from saboteurs are totally destroyed. There is no credible evidence to support speculations that Roosevelt knew about attack in advance and allowed it to happen in order to unite the country behind the war. America's cautious and limited involvement in international arena did not protect nation's interest, maintain global stability or keep the nation from becoming involved in war.
