Abstract
The bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese has devastating repercussions for Japanese-Americans living in the United States. More than 100,000 Issei and Nisei who live along the West Coast are rounded up and taken to relocation centers in February of 1942. Rural areas that were predominantly Japanese-American before World War II will never recover that population. In contrast, Japanese American solders earn accolades.
