Abstract
The 21st century marks a time of globalization. Although a global economy is not empirical by definition, many non-industrialized nations resent the intrusion of the industrialized west for religious, cultural and economic reasons. In much of world the United States is viewed as arrogant, materialistic, and out of touch with values of other nations. The United States must figure out how to operate in both a post-Vietnam world and a post 9-11 world.
