Abstract
Professor of American studies and history Matthew Frye Jacobson talks about the links between certain ethnic groups and specific industries. Professor Jacobson explains that there were initially geographic concentrations of ethnic groups according to travel routes, and further concentrations by industry within those geographic locations according to the skills immigrants brought with them from their lands of origin.
