Abstract
Nobel Prize winning professor of psychology Daniel Kahneman talks about mental accounting, which bears some resemblance to framing. Dr. Kahneman explains that the way people manage money in certain instances is related to the how they interpret a particular experience. As an example, he cites a case of someone losing theatre tickets and having to pay for them again in order to replace them, versus someone losing the money it would have cost to buy the tickets in the first place and having to replace that money in order to buy tickets. Although the amount of money is the same in both cases, the nature of the experiences and the way they affect people are very different.
