Abstract
The industrialized world is responsible for most of the environmental devastation of the twentieth century. But an emerging middle class in countries like China and India have the potential to take an unprecedented toll on the environment because of the enormity of their populations. Impoverished countries, in their efforts to attain economic growth, are destroying their natural resources. The development of solar hydrogen technologies is essential if sustainability is to be maintained in the face of these emerging nations.
