The interview focuses Matthews's professional career as a librarian, which started with a cataloging position in Rollins College in Florida in 1949, full-time positions at Princeton University, and a cataloging position at Bowdoin College in Maine, before being hired as a social science librarian at Trenton State College in 1963.
