Abstract
Anwar al Sadat's historic peace efforts with Israel cost him his life. The President of Egypt's settlement was halted in dramatic style during a military parade on the morning of October 6, 1981. This program traces the events leading up to his assassination in 1981, revealing the final days of Sadat's mission for peace. Features interviews with his widow Jehan al-Sadat, former Israeli president Ezer Weizmann and U.S. president Jimmy Carter.
