Abstract
This clip summarizes how to solve equations. It describes the relationship between word problems, number sentences and equations, noting that the latter are, "Â…nothing more than a statement that two mathematical expressions are equal." The clip revisits the parts of an equation (constants, unknowns and coefficients), states that whatever is done to one side of the equation must be done to the other, and explains that the ultimate goal is finding the value of the unknown.
