Abstract
This clip explains that the symbol for positive numbers is the plus sign. If a number has no sign at all, it's understood to be positive. On the number line, the positive numbers are lined up in order to the right of the zero, in what is called "the positive direction." The negative numbers are lined up in order to the left of the zero in what is called "the negative direction."
