Abstract
This clip summarizes the lesson on negative exponents. It explains that when we say 4 to the power of negative 2, it means 1 over 4 to the power of 2. "If we think of the original number as a fraction with a denominator of 1," the clip states, "...we can change the sign of the exponent just by inverting the fraction." The clip also reviews the subject of division involving negative exponents, and touches on the use of negative exponents in a new, simplified form of expanded notation.
