Abstract
After explaining how to evaluate a patient experiencing a dysrhythmia, this program provides an in-depth examination of cardiac dysrhythmias of the atrioventricular node and the ventricles. Normal sinus rhythm and its associated waveform are correlated and then compared to the waveforms of junctional arrhythmias, first-degree AV block, second-degree AV block (Mobitz Types I and II), third-degree AV block, premature ventricular contraction (PVC), ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, and asystole. The five-step method of ECG evaluation—heart rate, heart rhythm, P wave, P-R interval, and QRS duration—is included. Reviewed for accuracy in 2008. Designated for 8 contact hours of continuing nursing education.
