Abstract
Labor unions have played a critical role in American society, but many people are unaware of the history of the U.S. union movement. The AFT, the union representing faculty and professional staff at William Paterson University, sponsored this educational lecture designed to inform the audience about this important history.
This presentation is given by Gene Carroll, who has served as a labor and social justice organizer for unions, including the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union and the United Mine Workers of America, and Evelyn Hershey of the American Labor Museum.
