Abstract
What happens to a mother’s body as it undertakes the mission of delivering a baby? How does the body of a newborn react when there are complications in the delivery room? As this program shows, the riskiest day of anyone’s life is the day of his or her birth. At only two hours old, baby Gabriel faces grave danger with a condition called Meconium Aspiration Syndrome. Baby Arnav’s umbilical cord has become wrapped around his neck, and his mother must undergo a breech Caesarean section. And even without complications, birth is rife with potential trauma. Viewers will witness baby Lily moving inside the womb and see what happens when her body begins to take charge of its own survival.
