Abstract
A few days before his suicide, Evan Perry made a list of six things to live for, then matched it with a list of six things to die for. “We’ll never know what was really in Evan’s head the night he killed himself,” his mother, filmmaker Dana Perry, says. Through home movies and interviews with those closest to the 15-year-old, this HBO documentary tells the story of Evan’s battle with childhood bipolar disorder. Perry’s footage captures early manifestations of the disease as its symptoms unfolded, and the therapeutic options the family pursued.
