Abstract
The perfect square trinomial is a polynomial that can be factored using a special formula. In standard form, the first and last terms of a perfect square trinomial are always perfect squares. The middle term is always the product of the square roots of the first and last terms multiplied by two. The factors of a perfect square trinomial are always two identical binomials, which can also be written as the square of one binomial factor.
