Abstract
The ongoing fact of life at CNN is that an enormous amount of news has to be gathered and prepared for broadcast quickly on a daily basis. Conflicts sometimes develop because of the tremendous pressure that can arise in that kind of environment. But the corporate culture at CNN works to diffuse at least some of the possible sources of conflict. For example, the organizational structure is clearly defined, so that people don't usually come into conflict over who's responsible for what. And there's an open, collegial atmosphere that generally motivates CNN employees to speak freely.
